Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Helstonbury, it is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend and brother Stephen Nightingale aka “Boomer”.
Most of you will know him as the legendary bass player in our resident and much loved band Crazy Horses from the Black Country, who, year in year out entertain you all with the finest repertoire of Classic Rock anthems.
Boomer is also a very dear friend, one who I have had the pleasure of knowing since our childhood days and I’m sure those of you who have got to know him over the years will be deeply saddened to hear this news.
I know how much he loved not only to come down and play each year but also the extended friendships he enjoyed through our Helstonbury family, with fellow musicians and the regular festival supporters.
Boomer was one of a kind, with a warm and easy going soul, he loved his music, he loved to play and was highly respected in the music community.
He will be sadly missed by us all, our thoughts and deepest condolences go to Mandy, Callum and family and to our dear friends Crazy Horses at this very sad and difficult time.😔💙 RIP my friend xx
